Laser Welding
Laser welding works like this. The focal spot of the weld joint is aimed with an enormous amount of light energy which is converted to thermal energy forming the weld spot. This weld spot time is mere milliseconds. What this means to the customer is greatly reduced or eliminated heat affected zones or "sinks". Laser welding can be used on delicate parts which could never have been processed with conventional methods due to the residual heat introduced to the part. Distortion and heat input are virtually non-existent due to the pulsed nature of the laser welding process.
